Behind the Music (BTM)
There were two criminals crucified with Jesus.
One on his right and one on his left.
One of the criminals said, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!”
But the other rebuke him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence or condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Truly, two sides here.
One who clearly didn’t have a clue about his own sin. He couldn’t see it.
One who clearly got it.
He knew it was because of what he did that he was up there. He didn’t point fingers.
He didn’t say, “If you get to your kingdom, remember me”…he said when…when you get there.
May we approach Jesus in such a way that we understand that salvation only comes from him. And may we be so thankful, every day…may we want to know more of this Savior who took on the cross…for us.
Let us choose the side of the cross that leads to His kingdom.
